11/40 with TU60 and twin RK05 drives
The 11/40 was introduced as a higher performance replacement for the 11/20. The machines featured a KD11-A CPU which was implemented in 2 boards with microcoded instructions.

Floating point, EIS, CIS and memory management where optionally available. The memory management option extends the maximum addressable memory to 124KW and provides for programmed memory protection.
